The safety module of the MS-ER MA R01 series is a logic block with an integrated actuation unit and can be used to create electrical control systems relating to the functional safety of the machine. Typical applications are the control of: Emergency stops - Limit switches for movable guards - Safety sensors - Devices with solid state output such as photoelectric safety barriers (ESPE). By appropriately connecting these devices to the inputs of the safety module, it is possible to create 2-channel control systems with integrity levels up to SIL "3", according to EN 62061 or IEC 62061 and performance levels up to PL "e", according to EN ISO 13849-1. It is also possible to create 1-channel circuits with integrity levels up to SIL “1” and performance levels up to PL “c”. The module is also equipped with a dedicated START input, which appropriately configured, offers the possibility of carrying out the AUTOMATIC START or MANUAL START functions.
